Baby Gourmet, Canada’s leading organic baby food brand, announced today that Squoosh, its first line of healthy, organic snacks for toddlers, is the recipient of Canadian Retail Grocery Council’s coveted 2012 Annual Grand Prix Award for innovation in snacks for baby and Judges grade each entry on five criteria: uniqueness and innovation, presentation and packaging, product characteristics, overall consumer value and lastly, consumer acceptance (household penetration rate of product). To become a finalist the product must score at least 70% in judging. Judges accessed the non-food items in their homes for a span of six weeks.
“Since its initial availability in October 2012 Squoosh has been flying off the shelves and consumer feedback has been extremely positive. Winning the Grand Prix award is not only one of the biggest honors we’ve received, it shows us healthy snacking is just as important to the Grocery industry and parents throughout Canada as it is to Baby Gourmet,” said Founder, Jen Carlson.
Celebrating 20 years of its annual program celebrating new products in 26 food categories, the Canadian Grand Prix Awards provides an exclusive chance for manufacturers, suppliers and distributors to showcase their new products to a panel of industry experts. This is the longest standing industry awards. Starting June 2013 Baby Gourmet is increasing distribution throughout Walmart Canada and Loblaws.
